Umm 16.4 isn't a real height, 16 hands and 4 inches would be 17hh, not 16.4. I hope that was a mistake, but honestly this whole post sounds fake. What do you mean by hopefully he's pure black, that makes it sound like you haven't even seen him. And bragging about the price? I'm really sorry if I'm incorrect and he really is yours, but this just seems fake to me.

Hmmmm.... I agree. I don't think that you sound very truthful about this. Hopefully Pure Black?? And 16. 4 is not a height, again I also hope that was a mistake. Also sorry if you are telling the truth, but lying doesn't prove anything...do you even know what you're talking about?

very sorry, my bad. I got him from an old friend of my dad's. I only got to see pictures because the owner was showing a horse in British Columbia. the papers said 16.4 but it may have been 17h. he did cost 35k but no i am not bragging, i have been riding for 6 years and have never really owned my own horse. You see my old horse, Panda was a Standerdbred/appoloosa cross. he died of cancer just over 3 years ago.

This horse is a Birthday/christmas gift and we've been looking for him or someone like him for a year now. I am 17 and paid for 10k of it. i can't upload pictures because my scanner's broken and i work only from my laptop. I said that i hope he is purelly black because i love black horses. His father was not a very prestige kind of racer. His father's name was Rebel i don't know his full name but his mother's was Morning's Glory, she was a bay 5 year old mare, his dad was a blackish, dark bay 8 1/2 year old stallion. Again i am not lying and i don't care that u don't beleive me, but please don't ruin my good mood and i am getting him a week after christmas, he is being flown in from calgary, his son is like one of my best friends.

That's so cool!! I wish I could have a horse! I am happy for you! I hope you and your new horse will have many great times together.

and as for the others who posted here...: Who cares if she got the height wrong? honestly? Let's just try not to jump at each others throats at the first innocent mistake. Very Happy and even if she was lying (not saying you were), why does it matter? (Hope that didn't sound rude or like I was angry..just wondering what the cause was behind all this.. Very Happy ) I really think you guys are great! Very Happy

But again..you are so lucky! i hope your new horse is all that you want it to be! Have fun! Best Wishes and Merry Christmas!

i don't know if i'll Neuter him(lol). But thank u all for being so understanding. My dad's friend called today and said that he needs new horse shoes so we'll have to wait to bring that subject up. I'm also deciding what saddles i should get. the ones that i still have from Panda(old horse, passed away*cries*) are smaller and abit worn out. Please if anyone has some options for me then please tell. (he's a thoroughbred so he's a bit bigger.) I know that Freefeather(thats what i'm calling him) is a racing horse but i want to enter him into jumping but i'm afraid he might be too big for that.

My best friend, Melisa has a mare named Trigger and now i'm starting to think that she might be a good lovebud for Free. Razz . oh well. suggestions, comments and help are welcome, i love listening to people talk about this kind of subject!
Oh and Merry Christmas(or happy holidays) to u all.

RIP Panda, Hoppy(rabbit), Chesire(cat) and get well my buddy Ben(got his eyes scratched out...almost by his ex-gf.) don't ask y because i don't know why anyways.

My advise would be to geld him. Stallions are such a hassle, unless he has truely spectacular bloodlines and conformation its really not worth keeping him intact. Also most shows won't allow a minor to show a stallion.

As for a saddle I would reccomend getting a saddle fitter out to measure him, that way you can be sure the fit will be just right. Beleive me, it's worth it. I'm guessing he will be pretty narrow now, but as he finishes growing he'll probably get wider. I would suggest you get something with an interchangable gullet system so you won't have to get a new saddle as he grows.

17hh is a great height for a jumper, I'm sure he would do wonderfully! I'd suggest you wait untill hes at least 4 before you start him over fences though, you need to wait for his knees to close. Since it sounds like he's only track broke you'll have a lot of work before you can start jumping anyways. Do you have a good trainer to help you retrain him?

Yay Queenie (can I call you that?) !!!

He sounds really nice though a track broke 3 1/2 year old stallion might be a handful hopefully you two will get along fine. Smile

I agree with Queso about gelding him. He would probably be easier to handle at shows and such if he wasn't intact and interested in the girls. 3 is still plenty young enough for him to have the surgery too so thats good. 17hh is pretty tall so atleast you'll never outgrow him! Like I said Freefeather sounds great and good luck with him. Smile

yes u can call me Queenie or Icy. I'm still thinking about gelding him, his mom has good bloddlines and his father may not have been very prestigous but he did win some things, he raced in British columbia and Calgary i think. I might breed him twice or thrice. I will get a gullet saddle, a racing saddle and jumping saddle. i know that i have to wait for him to turn 4 because his hocks and knees can't handle the pressure. My friend is 2 years younger then me and he say that Frefeather is very quiet and friendly, the only time he's been abit crazy was when the snow started falling. David(that's his name) says that he absolutly loves snow and started whinnying and jumping and running around, acting like a foal and really enjoying himself.

i never met him but i already feel like were gonn get along great. If any of u have horses then can u tell me the breeds of them and their main occupation?(jumping, running, track or show)

I'd discourage you from breeding him just for the sake of it, there is an abundance of unwanted horses right now. Thousands of thorougbreds get sent to slaugher every year. Unless your boy can produce offspring that are aboslutly outstanding, chances are you would be producing something that would be taking homes away from horses who don't have one in the first place. If you just want to see some babies then I would suggest rescuing a life that's already in this world. Also a lot if the time if a stallion gets to actually breed before he's gelded, he'll act more studdy than a gelding who never got to breed.

I think you need to do some research on saddles, there isn't such a thing as a gullet saddle, pretty much all saddles have a gullet. Also, a racing saddle wouldn't be very comfortale to just ride around in, they are designed to be light, not for comfort lol. Very Happy

I really don't want to sound mean or rude, but honestly you sound like a novice me. I'm just a bit worried about someone who isn't experianced with stallions having to deal with a big tb colt. I'd really urge you to geld him for you own safety, and to find a really good trainer to help you work with him. I've worked with stallions and while some can be sweeties, a lot of them can be very dangerous, especially if there are girls around. If you don't know what you are doing you can get seriously injured or even killed.

Sounds like it would have been fun to watch him play in the snow, you should ask your friend to take pictures next time! Wink We'd all love to see him.

I have a 16h Tb/Hanoverian mare named Winnie. We do jumpers and some eventing. We also do dressage for fun, but we don't compete in it. I also train other peoples horses for them occasionally. I don't have any projects right now because of school, but I still will school horses for my trainer or for friends every once and a while.

i haven't owned a TB before and i'm so confused right now, i've stayed up endless nights talking to my boarder and she keeps pushing me to go onto their jumping team. Oh i'm so tired and my friend melisa has asked if she can breed her Arabian, Trigger to Freefeather. But i guess i might not because of all the critiscm i'm getting. Oh well now i have to go ad take a nap. All thses saddles and bridles and pads and other crap have gotten me so screwed up.
