I simply don't understand the fascination with the series.... Edward is a HORRIBLE boyfriend, he's most certainly not hot (Edward, not Robert Pattinson - haven't seen the movie and don't intend to), Bella is a whiny doormat who hurts everyone who's nice to her, the writing style is awful, there's no plot, and blah.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but I had to get that out there... If someone could explain what makes the series so freakingzomg!amazing, that would be excellent. |

I'm in the middle of reading the first book of the series and I was surprised that I'm actually enjoying it! I had heard so many different opinions that I figured "what the heck", I'll just find out for myself. So I did and I like it. That's just my opinion though...

It bugs me when people assume that everyone who likes the book is an Edward fanatic. No doubt in real life he would be good looking, but he doesn't exist. There isn't any point in liking a fictional character, anyways.
I love the series, even if it sounds like I don'tXD, but the movie sucked! There wasn't much talking. It was all, like, dramatic views of their eyes. The special effects were very fake. Jasper FREAKED ME OUT. Carlisle looked like a color-drained Barbie, but it fit. Edward was extremely ugly. Emmett was great! Bella was pretty good! Laurent needed work... James needed work... Victoria needed work. Alice didn't have a big enough role. They skipped several scenes. And in the sun, Edward looked sweaty! Grrr...
But the books rockXD Breaking Dawn was pretty good, but it seemed disorganized. |

Sorry to keep hijacking this thread, but I still don't get how he's hot. Some freakishly pale dude with yellow or black eyes and bronze hair who looks constantly angry and who always wears beige, white or tan... I don't see him as being attractive at all. (I haven't seen the movie - I'm going off what was said in the books.)

Hey, the good part about reading is that you can imagine what he looks like, adding to the details they give! So technically, if you haven't seen the movie and don't already have that pic in your mind, then you can make him look however you want! That's the fun in reading instead of watching!

P.S. I just finished the first book. LOVED IT!!! I'm gonna try and get the second one at the library tomorrow, I hope it's as good as the first...

I've read all the books, loved it the first time round, and maybe a few more reads after that. But now, after reading it quite a lot of times, I'm starting to see what all the Anti-Twilightists(can't find another word xD) are going on about. There really is no plot, most of the main characters are painfully obvious Mary Sues, and Meyer's writing style is terrible. Oh, not to mention the overuse of a thesaurus. xD Sure, it helps the reader to visualise things more easily, but it does get quite annoying. Sorry if I've offended anyone, but it's just what I think, and everyone's entitled to an opinion right? |

Not because I think he's good looking, just because it's the seductive nature of his race. But vampires don't exist, so there's no way I'll be falling for one anytime soon. |

I was really surprised when I saw the dude who plays Edward in the movie. I had imagined him soooo differently, but it happens all the time. It kinda annoys my that they gave him like really dark hair in the movie, when in the books he has like bronze hair and isn't that almost a blond? I don't know. But anyway, I got the second Twilight book at the library so I can see what else happens to "Bella" and "Edward"....

Can someone explain what's so wonderful about Edward? He's possessive, controlling, manipulative, breaks into Bella's house, and has very... Odd, to say the least, pick up lines. I just don't get what makes him perfect, or anything remotely close to it. :X |

I'd say... I agree. He is sorta odd. But I am definitely part of "Edward Team", lol! I love the books and it would be so cool if he was real. Some times just reading the books make me think it even though I know it's not. Ya know what I mean? Lol.... anyway. I can't wait to get the 2nd book! The library takes so long to get it, I'm dieing here!!!

Got and finished the 2nd book! Loved it! I'm gonna get the 3rd as soon as I can get into town. Hey does anyone know how many books are in the series? Are there 3 or 4?
