I'm wondering if it might be time to establish a stock service here on SBF. I know I'm not the only person who's experiencing difficulty with too much relation in their stock, and I'm thinking that we might be able to make up a stud book and broodstock list to help eachother out. In other words, I'm thinking about making another club: the Aljan Farms Foundation Stock Service.
I don't want to make people feel obligated to put their stock up for public stud or brood... I'm thinking I'd like to invite people to list individual animals, species, or farms as a resource for others so they can "pool resources"... whatever each individual would be comfortable with... and of course, each individual would decide what prices and conditions would apply. It might make things easier for people to navigate than the current marketplace and forums.
I would insist that all people listed would be members of the EBA and adhere to the code of ethics, also. I would also like to implement a monthly vote for public recognition of the new site, regarding practicing outstanding ethics, helping others, and such.
I'm just brainstorming here... any thoughts, folks?

I would recommend you make it part of the EBA instead of an entirely different club, especially if you're going to insist that everyone placing their animals, etc, in the lists be a member of the EBA anyway.
The EBA has gone a bit quiet lately and it would be good to see something to give it a bit of a kick-start. |

I like Misty's idea. It would be a good idea to get people interested in the EBA again.
I would like to be a member of this club, it is increasingly harder to get new quality dogs to breed with my own. People don't seem to understand the meaning of "quality" anymore.

I'm thinking I'll make an announcement on the "Club Announcements" and keep an active thread on the "Looking for Sonmething" forum that resembles the "Creation Corner" format.
Each player can maintain their own listing of variations, colors, and details or individual studs and/or broodlease animals that they are offering to the public OR just to EBA members. Of course, this is all up to each individual player.
Only EBA members will be permitted to post, and I would like to keep chatter to a minimum, moving that to PM's, another forum, or to the EBA club board to keep the board as organized and clutter-free as possible.
Any thoughts?

Great idea. I would totally support it, and I think the Stud Book is a great idea that should be taken into thought as well!!

Well, folks, I took your suggestions into consideration, and I've begun a thread on the "Looking for Something" forum! I have also added an announcement on the "Club Announcements" forum with details about rules and such - all EBA members are encouraged to check it out and PARTICIPATE!!!!
Keep the feedback coming, folks!

I think its a brilliant idea....Heck knows its getting harder and harder to breed to replace...The studs/broods either don't exist, or belong to no longer active players....I think this will definately help! |
