Thanks for trying Misty Smile

Should have given you more info, my bad...Its for a stallion so, masculine lol, but its for one of my more special guys, a 'foundation' breed so thats why I was looking for something along those lines...The first bloodline...Or the start of a noble ancestry, etc etc...Smile Does that help any in the finding of something? No worries if it doesn't, thanks for trying anyway, its appreciated Smile

My friends are Mikayla (female) and Alex (Male, or Alexander).

If you are still interested in doing this, of course. The elvish is beautiful, nice job.

Vitani, so far I've come up with this:
Sergamol: ancient blood
Bregéo: King of all horses
Roheru: Horse lord
Markhôr: Horse lord

Let me know if you want the detailed meaning behind any of those names, or if you want me to look at some more possibilities.

Mikayla - Hebrew
Meaning: Who is like God?
Michelas - Elvish (Middle-earth)
Michel: meaning great.
Las: meaning leaf.
Meaning: Great Leaf
Refers to a tree of substantial spiritual significance. This could include the Tree of Life, the World Tree, or Caras Galadhon (in Middle-earth).

Alexander - Greek
Meaning: Defending men.
Ailinsandir - Elvish (Middle-earth)
Ailin: meaning lake, pool.
San: from sanga, meaning press, throng, like a closely grouped body of soldiers.
Dir: Masculine ending
Meaning: Army of the Lakes
Refers to an army whose origin is in a town/city near a group of lakes.

Oooh, love those Misty, thank you!

I'm especially attracted to Sergamol since it almost fits...While not "ancient" its a foundation breed that started around the 15th century Smile

I do love all of them though...And think I'll wind up using all of them for my special stallions Laughing

Could I have the elaborations on them, please...?

Have sent you a trade, not much, but to say thank you Smile

What about the words:

Flicka
Morning
Scout
Mist
April
Destiny
Sister
Eye

I don't know, some random words that would be cool to put in names for animals on here in Elvish, that's so cool you can do this!

I can't wait Smile

Elvish words are provided for the following:

Morning - tindome, uial, erin
Scout - can't find this, but I found hunter - feredir
Mist - Hith, hisie
April - Gwirith
Destiny - can't find this, but I found fate - Ambar, manadh, amarth
Sister - gwathel, muinthel, thél(eth)

I'm wanting to just translate names, not words at the moment. If you want words translated some of the following resources might be useful:
http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/elvish/eng_to_elv.html
http://home.netcom.com/~heensle/lang/elvish/sindarin/engsind.html
http://hem.passagen.se/benninge/quenya-english.html
http://www.uib.no/People/hnohf/vocab.htm

The tanslation for the name Flicka is below:
Fílikir
Fíli: meaning file
Kir: meaning cut, cleave
Meaning: Cutting file
Refers to a tool used in the workshop by a carpenter or metal-smith.

Knight, I added in the script you wanted. See the original post about that name.

SisKate, I managed to translate 2 out of 3.

Emily
Teutonic
Meaning: Industrious
Emereth
Elvish (Middle-earth)
Emer: meaning sheep or shepherd
Eth: a feminine suffix
Meaning: Shepherdess

Dalton
Old English
Meaning: The town near a valley
Diltun
Elvish (Middle-earth)
Dil, meaning point, horn.
Tun: meaning enclosure.
Meaning: Mountaintop City

Cisco
Spanish
Meaning: From France
This one I couldn't translate at all I'm afraid. The elements in the name just have no elvish equivalent, not even anything close, so there wasn't much I could do.

Thanks to everyone who's made suggestions. They've been really helpful and I've quite enjoyed this.
Unfortunately I have exams at the moment so I'm not going to do this any longer.
Thanks for your interest. Smile
