Last week, I sold my first pony, a zany, crazy and spunky confidence building paint/welsh cross named Cisco. I really really loved him, he built my confidence up, but he didn't jump like I do now on another horse. He left today, and I have been crying for two days now. I said goodbye and watched him leave my barn today at 1:13 pm. I am really really sad and I feel like my heart is smashed. Coming on here is helping, and I can always rely on you SBF'ers to be so kind and supportive I wanted to say thank you to all who new about this hard time for me, and are cheering me up. I hope I can feel better and I am really missing "Cisco". I am wanting to create a variation after him on here to remember him. Has anyone ever gone through this same situation and has words of wisdom for me? All I need right now is someone to talk to and I want to know I'm not the only one that has to go though such a drastic depression Thank you so much for all of your support you guys, you've all really helped me a lot. You make a difference.
With Love,

It's ok Kate, I know how it feels to loose one of those special horses. I'm sure he went to a good home. Now he has someone new to teach, someone he can help be confident. I'm sure he will always have a special place in your heart. I speak form experiance when I say that he will always be there, just because you're not physicly with him doesn't mean he's not a part of you anymore.
If you want to talk more, give me a pm. I know how you feel. At least you had the ability to choose to say goodby, I wasn't as lucky. |

*gives hugs and cookies*
After a car accident left me unable to ride anymore, I had to sell my 'rescue' horse Kai...A very fugly Clyde cross that taught me more about love, trust and respect than any human ever could have...It broke my heart 7 years ago and still hurts now, so I know how your feeling...
Like the others said, the consolation is knowing he's gone to a good home, and now he'll be helping someone else up the learning ladder, giving them the same fun times and unconditional love that animals always do....I'm sure he'll be smothered with treats, hugs, and long grooming sessions and will be very happy!
Are you able to visit him, or get the odd phone/email update...? |

I've never had to sell a beloved horse, so I don't know exactly what you're going through, but I did lose a beloved filly when she died unexpectedly of colic.
At least in this case, he went to live his live with a good home and a new friend, yes? That should help console you, knowing that he's happy somewhere else ... not that it'll make you feel better, I know, but eventually it'll help I'm sure.
If you want to talk, you can always PM me. |

You guys are so helpful, don't know WHAT I would do without such loyal friends. Even though I don't know you off of this game, you have really touched me now, and I am already feeling much bette. So thanks, all, for helping me though the toughest time. I didn't know it would be this hard to say goodbye to "Sis". I am glad I'm not the only one who went though the same thing. Thanks for all of the support, once again, all of you have made a difference

Thank you so much, moving on is really hard, but I officially have. I have welcomed a new horse named Scout, a thoroughbred into my life! I am really excited, you guys have helped me decide, too. Again, you're making a difference ~

Well, yes it's very sad and not my fault. But I used to have a really cute Welsh Pony named Mikey. He was the best and he had a Snowy white color with the cutest pink nose, and a special spot under his chin that had a blob of dark chocolate brown freckles in the shape of a heart. He really meant alot to me, until my mean retarded Trainer (Becky) sold him without me knowing over-night to a person in Seattle and it was HORRIBLE I found out the next morning, and he was gone I looked in his stall and turnout and nothing but dirt. And now I can never see him again, and turns out she sold him cause she thought I was "too big" and I was even more mad because he was 27! And we were going to retire his to a nice box stall in our 15 stall barn in our backyar dand had prepared a nice green big pasture for him at our house just for mikey and had a n engraved plaqurd by it that said Mikey so it's okay SisKate I'm with you Love you

Aww, thanks. It is really hard moving on and just thinking of his name makes me tear up a little. Mikey sounded great and that has happened to me. In fact, every horse but Cisco was pulled out from under me like that, so join the club

It is hard to lose pets in anyway, especially if you've had them for a while and grown attached to them. I raised Border Collie pups for a few years and even though I made sure to the best of my ability that each pup went to the best homes it was still tough. But not as tough as when I lost my original male, Speedy. My Dad brought him home as a surprise for me and I had him for almost 9 years. In 2001 my Dad was killed in a car wreck. The day of the funeral I looked at Speedy and I told him that he would always remind me of a very happy memory of my Dad. The next day we went to the hospital to see my mom. When I came home my Speedy was dead in his box. Unknown causes. I still tear up when I look at his pictures. He was probably the smartest dog I've ever owned. I could tell you memory after memory of my gone-but-not-forgotten babies, but I won't bore you. Losing anything is tough, but unfortunately, it is a fact we all deal with the best way we can. |

Oh, EDZ, that is absaloutely not boring, and anyone who thinks someone's sadness is boring then they have a cold heart. *hugs carefully* That is way harder than what I had gone through, I am so sorry I teared up just thinking about what happened to you, I have a lot of empathy. You can tell me memories about your Speedy, i don't mind So so so sorry about your dad and your sweet Speedy. May both rest in peace. Take care, and god bless,

*gives a hug*
I'm sorry SisKate! I've never had to say good bye to a horse, but I have had to say good bye lots of times to family dogs that I was attached too. At least you can know that he went to a home that will take care of him, feed him, and keep him a happy pony. *gives another hug* I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you so much, Bratterratt. Kind words really can go a long way
Yes, his new family is pretty nice, and although I will miss him, he sure wil always have a place in my heart. *returns hug* I am feeling much better, but I will always have that one little feeling of something that's missing, if you know what I mean.

I know what you mean, SisKate. And it's ok to feel that way! Everyone really does when they loose someone special.
