|
I know it as:
One for sorrow
Two for joy
Three for a girl
Four for a boy
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret never to be told
I was watching coronation street today and one of the charaters said it goes:
One for sorrow
Two for joy
Three for a letter
Four for a boy
Five for a wish
Six for a kiss
Seven for something better than this
Eight for silver
Nine for gold
Ten for a secret never to be told
I was just wondering if anybody knows any other magpie rhymes? Theres probably loads lol
I think there is one that goes up to 11 but i'm not sure |

There are so many different versions of that rhym. Some kinda overlap with others. But here's sneezing rhym if you're interested
One sneeze a kiss
Two a wish come true
Three a love letter
Four for something better
or
Sneeze on a Monday sneeze for danger
Sneeze on a tuesday, kiss a stranger
Sneeze on a Wednesday recieve a letter
Sneeze on a Thursday for something better
Sneeze on a Friday Sneeze for sorrow
Sneeze on a Saturday see your beloved tomorrow
Sneeze on a Sunday, you're safety seek
Bad luck will dog you the rest of the week. |
