I didn't mean newbies as in new players.
Newbies as in inexperienced players. the problem I have is not with the new ones, it's the ones that never grow out of the newbie mentality. |

the term you are looking for is n00b. newbie is new player. n00b and newbie are not the same thing. urban dictionary defines newbie as follows:
Quote: | A person new to a game, concept, or forum. Not to be confused with n00b, a stupid person. Newbies are just new. |
Quote: | A person that is new to a game or forum. Not to be confused with n00b, a derogatory term to define either a new user to a game/forum or someone who acts stupidly regardless of account age or time played. |
and contrary to the experiences referred to here, many newbies I meet are fairly open minded and willing to learn about the game. yes, they make mistakes, but if it is gently pointed out to the what the consequences of such actions are, and what a better solution to their problem is, then they are usually more than willing to change their ways. |

I have met many nice and responsible players on this game but there are of course some who are not. Recently there have been a string of new players who have proved to be very responsible players.Though you have to realize that some people just think of this as a game and don't relize how much it means to us.
Look at Contests and Community Events under DesertBreesze's newest forum. |

At the present moment in time it's not the new players that are bothering me. It some of the "old" players. You know. The ones that you THOUGHT you could trust, but it turns out that it's completely the opposite.
**Short note**
From now on I will NOT be selling ANY of my AE's whole. And even replacements will be sterile unless you are one of 4 people I deem trustworthy on this game at the moment. I have made mistakes and trusted people where I should have been more cautios. |

not notes, insert it in the picture field as txt, or make a pic with a sign containing it
when an animal dies you dont have access to the notes anymore, but you can go to a parental animal and look on what was in their img field on the public profile still, and it makes it clear to any and all who migth ask about it that the animal aint avaliable
something like
this animal is not for sale, nor its offspring
should do it really |

I toatally agree with you guys, I miss the old SBF. I miss when everyone was friends and pretty much got along. I miss the time when a exotic animal was something vaulable. I miss the time when getting to the pasture was a huge acheivement, I miss the celebrating we would do when some *amazing* player reached the LMT. I miss the times when buying an end animal was a huge, exciting event. I miss all of my old friends who quit
*sigh* Honestly sbf has gotten less fun for me because everything is so easy now. If I want an AE animal all I have to do is go over to the marketplace and I can buy 10 or 15. Where's the challenge in that? I wish that John would change back the exam formala to how it used to be so the money would have more value. I remember when it took weeks to save up 1 mil, now I can make that in less than 1 days worth of exams. I wish that some of the old players would come back, I wish that we would have an active community again.
I remember last year I would stay up untill 4 in the morning chatting and playing games with people, there was always a couple people online to "hang" with. Now when I do get on, I don't even feel motivated to post because there is nothing fun happening to post on and no one else is online to even reply! Who remembers the old hide and seek thread? I remember pretty much whatever time I came on there was someone else play it with. No one seems to be acitve enought for things like that to happen any more and it makes me sad.
I'm going to try and make an effort to be more active on the forums, but at the moment I pretty much don't care about getting money or any new animals. That whole part of the game has basicly been ruined for me. At this point the community is the only thing that keeps me coming back, and sometimes I wonder if our little group will even be able to be called a community soon.
Sorry if there are any typos, it's been a long day |

Queso, I agree totally. This game is too easy so there's simply no challenge and therefore no fun anymore. I achieved my goals for this game very quickly yet they should have been very difficult. |

It makes me so sad that this has happened. And Queso, I remember the hide and seek game, that was brill. But like so many others, I find the game too easy and not a challenge, therefore I am BORED and like everyone else, can't find the motivation anymore. Even when it comes to "trying" to protect my AE animals that I have created. I sometimes think "Whats the point?" Someone, somewhere will eventually get their hands on one and breed them until they no longer have any value.
I have a load of AE animals I'd like to make, but whats the point? No one wants to pay what they're worth anymore.
Ok I'm rambling and will shut up now. **Sigh**
Come back old SBF all is forgiven. |

The problem is players keep asking for everything to be made easier. It is happening on all orbis games. I can't stand to 'play' VP anymore because it's been made too easy and the players just keep asking for things to be made even easier for them. Nef might as well charge $200 for a sponsor and you have instant success is how I see it.
Too many players here are making multiple accounts to increase their cash (we catch who we can, unfortunately it's not often enough) or they have 'friends' who hand them the cash to get everything instantly. They whine for money, for tokens and for anything else in game. I'm still active but I play more for myself right now. I don't mind helping people but enough is enough. Everyone wants everything handed to them. I get ill when I go to the 'looking for' board. I won't even go into the devalue of rare animals.
I honestly don't feel getting money is any easier if you play the game to get it. Most people have it handed to them though and they don't play/earn by collecting animals and taking exams Once it's handed to them and they have all the enclosures/more animals, prestige goes up. Not because they've earned it..but because susy creamcheese gave them the money or they cheated making numerous accounts to get it. |

I agree with everything that's been said.
I kind of wish we could have an economic reset or something... Everyone keeps tokens and prestige and animals and goodies and whatnot, but the value of prestige goes down (instead of making 100k per exam, you'd make... I don't know an amount, but less) and everyone had to start back at square three-ish. If not that, at least some way to stop the inflation and the overflow of "rare" animals.
I miss the days when finally getting an endangered animal was so exciting... And now it's just an everyday thing. The way things are going, an AE animal is going to be worth maybe a token. SBF just doesn't have that community appeal that it used to... It seems like it's turning into every other game out there - a race to see who can get the most money, not who can have the best animals or just talking with people and making friends. |

I think an economic reset would be good too, althought it would probably make a lot of people mad.I think one thing that stands in the way of the "old" sbf coming back is that the newer players have only known the easy sbf and would probably not be happy if everything got harder all of a sudden. |

Awww, and you know, I used to think I was the only one who thought this was what it was coming to. I almost quit, but, sbf is just a habit now, really.

I'd always wished the LMT and the Land of the lost should have been a Bonus you had to work a long time for. Not just money but prestige points and/or eventing points (permanent bonus points..not what comes and goes with the animals you have, these you'd need to reach a 'goal' to get and be able to use toward extras. Most people get bored after obtaining the LMT..well, the land of the lost now. Myths if nothing else should have been to farthest reaching 'goal' in the game. Hidden..and unless you bought tokens to create your own then something you have to again earn more 'points' to own. Given one type when you gain this 'prize', so many points to gain another and so forth. But then I always felt Myths should have been the longest living creatures on SBF too..but that's another story.
The thrill of 'working' toward an enclosure/certain animals is lost after you reach what's here now. Most of us took weeks if not months to gain.
I do not want a financial reset. It took me forever to gain 1 billion in the game and I was the first to do so..even with selling tokens and AEs. I had my account frozen and had to wait for the limit on money was raised to play again. It's not something I gained overnight, it's not something I trade between games to gain. I'd be peeved if I was knocked back in a reset.

Ooo, I really like that idea Jinxx. That way no matter how much money you got there would still be a challenge. |
