Modern Day Hero


She sees him struggle
Day after day
And so she struggles with him
To find a better way

To help him understand
The subject she teaches
She gives up the time
To him her hand reaches

A lonely man sits
On the side of the road
Lost in his battle
His feelings implode

But then he takes a step
In a positive diretion
Saving his own life
On his way to redeption

Shes tired and used
Working and going to school
Raising two children
People call her a fool

No one can understand
The wat that she feels
Being a single mother
Forgetting sleep and meals

The teacher, the mother, the drunk
On the surface seem ordinary
But hidden within them
Lies a soul extrodinary

These modern day heros
Stand on the frount lines
Of everyday wars
Challanging hearts and minds

They could all give up
At the drop of a dime
But choose to keep fighting
Untill they run out of time

Even then they dont stop
As their memory lives on
And new ones are born
Taking over for these gone
