There's a yahoo group that goes with it. Look for ModelHorseFunClub.
My sister and I have been debating an online 'spotted' horse club and a stablemate club as well. She'd started working on sites for both. I'll have to find out from her where they both are in the process though.
I closed the snail mail clubs when my burnout started. They both had near 30 members each when I had to close them.
I'm also a member of IPABRA, EDZ. I don't show yet. Working my way out of the burnout with the MHFC first.
I dropped all of my involvement with model horses except my sub to IPABRA when I started burning out. Still not over it totally but I can look at horses again and have started showing in the MHFC and new stablemates (and a few of the other scales) have been regularly finding their way into my collection again. Actually managed to start two stablemate customs recently. The first I've worked on since 02-03.
I've never gone to anything but local live shows. I've had numerous NAN qualifiers but haven't gone to NAN. |

I own a TB cross named Galaxy of Dreams. She's around 16h, Flea-Bitten Grey, and we do hunter/jumper. We do about 2'9" fences, Under Saddle, Eq, HOF and I think most of you know the classes. I have yet to show her though.
I received her on November 11, 2006 as a Christmas present =]] After a few months, she pulled a ligament and a tendon. It was the Suspensory Ligament, not sure about the tendon. She was in training at the time with my instructor, and she went lame after she rode her. She called my mom and told her, "Your mare was wild today!" Which she is not wild, especially for the TB she's got in her. So, we pretty much think it was the trainer.
She's been known to do this kinda stuff before - but we didn't know then. Hm... my mom's friend's horse came up lame while in training with her, had his legs wrapped for a week. My friend's horse damaged his navicular in the hoof, and he was in training with the lady. Now she has to sell him because he can't jump. She really can't keep him, her sister also owns a horse, so to be boarding 3 horses there with a board of 300 a piece is a lot of cash. Plus lessons for both, and shows for both. That's even more. There was also another girl at the barn - her mare came up lame and she had to cold hose her leg for a week or so; she was in training with the lady too.
Also my other friend's horse was ridden by the lady because he was misbehaving, something like that. She beat him so badly there were marks on his stomach and if I can remember I think there was some blood involved.
I was still very new to the barn, so we really had no idea. I mean, lots of people at that barn put their horses in training with her, and she's a great rider. But in my opinion, not a good horse trainer.
So back to the horse, she was down for about 9 months, we had to hand-walk her. I rode a green, 4 year old mare for the time being. I was pretty much training her for the owner of the barn*rolls eyes*. The mare was actually pretty fun to ride, but just the fact that I was only riding her for the reason. We brought each other to many blues. I rode her in the point show for the state fair, but of course I couldn't take her because she wasn't my horse. Star, my horse, wasn't rideable at the time so I rode the other mare. I came in first place in over-all points for the english day. In the western I came in 2nd or 3rd. It just kinda PO'd me to know I could have gone if that girl hadn't hurt my poor pony. =|
Star got better, I rode her on a time schedule to strengthen her up. I changed to a different barn later. My instructor started giving my 40 minute lessons, then 30, and finally 20 minutes. She made my mom pay full price, and promised a make up for the rest of the time. By the time it added all up she probably owed me about 2 1/2 - 3 full lessons. That was from the old barn.
So most recent news on her was on Easter sunday. I lunged her for a little while to relieve some of her energy, she had been full of it lately. She tripped, and started limping. I let her walk a little, and then trotted her again, and she kept limping. I brought her to my mom. I really thought she pulled the tendon again, and started crying. But now she's all better, so I'm able to ride her. She didn't pull it, but we still want her leg ultra-sounded to make sure she's ok for jumping.
Today, I rode her bareback. She used to take off at the walk, but I broke her of that. Today while going bareback she decided to try that again. She started off, and I couldn't stop her! I turned her in small circles until she finally stopped. I kinda lost balance in the process to, so I was hanging off the side of her, holding on with one leg, waiting for her to stop so I could jump off. hahaha. It must have been pretty funny to watch, but my mom didn't think so. lol.
*shakes fist*
Naughty Mare.
Oh my. Sorry for babbling. Talking about horses is my favorite thing to do. =] |

I can't judge anything until I get my computer back, can't open the class pages with this computer..it freezes and I have to shut down. Just found out my computer guy's wife had a baby today so I don't know how much longer it's going to be. *sigh* I hate being in limbo like this.
Anyway, yes, MHFC is a great club. Offers lots of variety and enough seperate shows you're bound to find at least one division to show in (except performance).
So you're the one with all those Chincoteagues..

I'm thinking about getting back into showing. I stopped everything modelwise when my laptop crashed a couple years ago. I've just recently started going through some floppies that I had all my horses (and other animals' pics) on. Not that anyone has missed me much.
Yeah, I remember you and your Chincs..lol. I still dabble in repainting when the mood takes me. Got any nice bodies sitting around that you don't need? PM me, maybe we can deal.. lol
Hey, Jinxy, I 'bred' from a feww of your horses way back when. I've started going through my S/D list recently and finding out that I need to redo a lot of my horses who are 30+ years old. I'm using them as parents for the models as I rename them and such. It's going to be a job. |

Just reorganizing and relisting my s/ds is a job. And I have lots more to offer and some aren't available anymore so I had the new web address added to the IPABRA list before it's completed. At the moment there's only a few breeds up. Need to get moving on more. Find where I stuck the list of mustang for the update on the page. I know those were the next I had finished . *shakes head* And I have a good 30-40 or more horses I still need to id and pedigree yet. Stablemates multiply very quickly..so do those darn micro minis. Though there are a number of trads and classics on the list too. Darned Treasure Hunt LPs and Silvers. Darn Walmart QH sets. |

Lol, those micro mini's do tend to stack up, don't they? All I had was a few old Breyers models and some micro mini's that I had really taken a liking to, next thing I know; I've got a couple hundred stacked away in my attic. =P |

I have the original Breyer Stallion & mare sets of MWs. Also several of the other Minnies from before Breyer bought them out (?)
A lot of my models use Real horse peds. It was my passion to cruise the All Breed Pedigree database. lol |

Yeap. I have tons of Chincoteagues. I am even the one that added them here.
I used to do pedigrees, but have slacked off. No time for it anymore.
Just my Chincoteagues have pedigrees. If you need any, let me know. I'll see what I have.
EDZ, I've missed you. Don't know about anyone else, but I've noticed you've not been around. |

When my laptop crashed it took a lot of my model horse info with it so I kinda dropped off. I'm slowly starting to get my interest back in gear, but it'll take a lot of time and work. My passion for collecting hasn't changed. Unfortunately, neither has my financial situation, lol. |

I had a bunch of them from before Breyer took them over and I can't get into calling them Mini Whinnies, to me they'll always be Micro Minis. I've since added some of the newer ones too. But I still need to get pictures of everyone so I can show them in the MBFC.
Off to work now..this will make 24 hours in a 48 hour period. Going on 4 hours sleep so I'm not sure I'll be on before tomorrow night now and I really need to try to get sleep after work tonight, I have to work tomorrow too.
