My two female rabbits went to be spayed 2 weeks ago. Rosie wa fine and was done, but as soon as Hollie was put under her little heart stopped . They managed to bring her round but she is mounting my male rabbit who in return bites her because he doedn't know what to think. She has some scabs from bites, but only little ones. This means she has to be spayed again this week, as she does not belong to me yet, the rescue centre said if her heart stops they will let her die . Rosie gets left out of the group most of the time and sits on her own, so we are getting her a companion soon. Any ideas whether we should have all four together or Rosie and new rabbit in one group and Hollie and Herbie in another??
This is the new one I'm getting

Any ideas on names?? We would like it to be the name of a herb. We have thought of Dill, Basil or Parsley so far. |

As long as everyone is altered and their personalities match, there's no reason they can't all live together. Just this past month (February is "Adopt a Shelter Rabbit Month") we turned one of the shelter's Free-roam cat rooms into a free-roam bunny room. There were about 12 rabbits all hopping about together all month. There were dominance displays, and a couple had to be removed for bullying, but once the balance was established, it was really peaceful (if not a bit messy). I'm sure you know, each bunny is different, and each one has a very distinct personality. Like people, some get along great, some are loners, some want lots of company, some are aggressive, etc. It all depends on each individual and the group dynamic how well they'll all work together. |

Thanks Kholran- we will try putting them all together and see how it goes. Hopefully Herbie won't chase the new bunny, if he does we will put them on the kitchen floor. That always works with bonding. This will be my third rescue rabbit lol and knowing the rabbit rescue centre owner and my mum there may be more to come.
ChocolateGal-Thanks for the names I like tyme. I've also thought of Bramble. |
