my eight year old toy poodle has gotten a tad overweight and I thought some exercise would do her some good. Do any of you know anything about agility. I thought that I might work with her some at home just for fun and some exercise. Do any of you know any tricks or other forms of exercise that would be beneficial for Cuddles? |

Do you mean like agility trials and things like that? If that is what you mean, he is probably a tad too old. I have a bit of experiance in that sport if you have any other questions. |

I think walks and playing is the best solution.
Also, if you allow him free food ( in other words, food is always there for 'em ) then I'd cut that down and maybe feed twice a day with smaller proportions and then walk the pup daily around the block, down the street, etc. Playing like engaging in chasing games, fetching, tug-o-war, etc. will also help burn some calories.
There's my suggestion. |

Thanks for the suggestions girls. Um I wasn't thinking along the lines of competing just getting some obstacles and doing a little bit of training and some more exercise too.
Kat: Cuddles has never been allowed free food. She gets fed in the morning and the evening and just small portions like you said.Walks are really fun with her but the weather is pretty severe right now to take her out. She'd freeze her feet off. Maybe I need to get her some booties hmmm...
anyways thanks for the suggestions. Though I would like to do agility with her in small bits and pieces nothing too stressful I don't know if she would ever excel in it.She likes to play with her toys, tennis balls mostly.Cuddles and my rabbit like to take turns chasing each other. So that helps. Any more suggestions? |
