I'll research which ever one you want me to. I'm good at digging stuff up lol
The only problem is I doubt that we will be able to find an accurate number for the ones killed. Most of the farms aren't regulated so they don't have to tell anyone. |

Quote: | *Designing Flyer
-Layout will be chosen and made by PinkStar, info on that will come soon..
-Artists are welcome to draw pics, as long as they fit into one sheet of 12 by 10 piece of paper and look good in grey scale [just in case].
[/size] |
So, if I want to draw a picture, do I need to ask PinkStar or who should I ask first? |

Perhaps we should expand it past China. It happens all over the world. Try reading about it on Encarta, if you have the programm, if not, PETA might have some facts on it. Other then that, google should do well.
Kat-Read about factory farming, I should have metioned it. It's disgusting how they can do it all for money.
I'd suggest we don't make it look to 'greenie' because if it does, only people like us will care. |

Queso - K, why don't you choose what questions you want, and then post the info here. Maybe we could find a range of numbers ... like a ball park estimate.
Chilly Girl - Please stay on topic. We aren't talking about designing the flyer atm.
Fiddle - Yep. Of course we'll expand out of China's borders! So do you want ot research one of the questions? And, we may want to add something violent looking, just to attract guys. [lol] Obviously, they're not going to take us seriously if it's pink and purple.
We need to get this moving!!! It's taking a LOOONG time just to research a few questions! |

Violent photos are easy to find. PETA are good with shock images of cages ect. You're countries SPCA (whether it's Royal, Society ect.) might have some info on it, but I'm not too sure. I can't do much research on it until next month, some of you may know about my bandwidth issue.
Some quick info off the top of my head (may not be cruel or relevant) though:
- Rare/ unusual colours are bred eg. blue foxes
- A lot of people don't care
- Fur goes through lots of treatments and is more expensive than faux fur (false fur).
- Fur has to labled as fur, and the ammount of treatment it's gone through |

I'll research some of those questions for you. Also, what about, the diffrent traps animal fur trappers use.(example; leg-hold trap) |

The answer to number one is about 31 million animals are trapped and killed yearly. This is where I got the info from. |

The answer to #3 is that they(animals espicially minks) are kept in cages averaging 10" wide by 24" long. Sometimes the cages are a couple of inches wider, or a couple of inches shorter. |

Mink are usually gassed or violently injected with poison. Many just have their necks broken or are asphixiated. An undercover investigation found that some minks are killed with weed killers, which can cause the animals to convulse for up to 10 minutes before death. Many chinchilla farmers hook one metal clamp to the ear, and another to her genitalia to implement the electrocution of this poor creature. The chinchilla is small, and it takes as many as 100 of them to die in order to make a single full-length fur coat. Ranch-raised foxes are kept in cages only 2.5 feet square (minks in cages 1-foot-by-3-feet), with up to four animals per cage. Animals can languish in traps for days. Up to 1 out of every 4 trapped animals escapes by chewing off his or her own feet, only to die later from blood loss, fever, gangrene, or predation. Every year, thousands of dogs, cats, raptors, and other so-called "trash" animals (including endangered species like the bald eagle) are crippled or killed by traps. To kill the animals without damaging their fur, trappers usually strangle, beat, or stomp them to death. Animals on fur farms may be gassed, electrocuted, poisoned with strychnine, or have their necks snapped. These methods are not 100 percent effective and some animals "wake up" while being skinned.
Those are just what the website says, I got it from here. |

Will get on to that, that is a combo of fur trapping and fur farming, the last bit is about fur farming. |
