I was planning on getting a border collie for about four years now, but when I was at an animal festival, I couldn't resist the golden retriever puppies they had. So, I somehow managed to come home with a female 8 week old golden retriever. She is a dark red and pure bred. My labrador thinks she is her mother. She won't stop looking out for the little pup. I have named her Clover, the name came to me when she was rolling around in them. I'll post pictures when I can!

granted i know it was a well breed clean healthy line, i would have goten the golden...
because while all dogs take training, the type dog that borders are...they are rigth there on the top of demands...needing insane amount of stimulation if you are not gonna have trouble, and do justice to the breed
as well as their instincts going in a direction of training not that interesting to me, while the golden is a hunter and hunting is something that interest me |

I had planned to train the border to do agility trials, so I am going to attempt that with Clover. I'm not sure if she will be as good as a border could have been, but it all depends on the personality of the dog. Chilly is a lab/greyhound mix and she loves agility trials, but we only enter her in the local ones because the borders there leave her in the dust. Though I would say for the breed mix she is, I wouldn't have expected her to be as good as she is... |

nods if you are interested in stuff like that, then yeah i'd likely taken the border, cause your willing to lay down the job, and open up the option of stimulation needed for the dog *s* |

I think the golden will work out ok. I have seen a few young goldens in agility trials that do extremely well. For as young as she is, she pays a lot of attention to people. I'm hoping that will mean she will be easier to train. |

is gonna have a dog house when i just can aford it and have the acomodations needed lol
i want no less then 3-4 breeds (originaly 2 but BF used to another 1 + he have yet another wish on list from young age)
i must have elkhound, i'd like to try a thai ridgeback dog
my bf is keen on shetland sheepdog and a breed on B that my mono ridden brain cant recal atm even if i know the breed name well...he (his mother) has one curently, while they had a sheepdog when he was lil
i grown up with elkhounds, and well i did a school asignment on TRD cause after my mom got a dog lexica i just picked it out as a cool looking breed, so was an opertunity to learn more about it...and ever since had an urge to once upon a time actualy try it out.
i swear if we have to get a sheepdog though that i know who is gonna have to stand outside and brush that one, the elkhounds bad enough |
