I'm absolutly in love with this stallion!
http://www.grayfoxfarms.com/redwine.htm
I was just browsing aroud looking at Hano stallions to possibly breed my girly to sometime down the road and I found this gem. He's a bit shorter than I'd like but other than that he's practicly everthing I dream about lol. Uphill build, good bone and nice sized feet, nice sholder angles and a beautiful neck. His hind looks nice, could be a bit more bulky for my taste but Winnie has a good sized butt to make up for it His jump is very nice and powerful looking and his trot looks good in the pictures. If his legs were a bit longer and he lost the socks and became a bay... *wishful sigh*
What do you guys think of him? I couldn't help but share him lol |

He is absolutely gorgeous, he reminds me of the classic Black Beauty. I would be proud to breed my mare to him if I had one |

Queso he's gorgous[sp?lol]!
I would breed my mare to him if I had a Hano. He's really nice looking, but as you said, he's got shorter legs. |

Yep, the legs are really the only thing I don't like about him. I like my horses pretty tall (I have long legs lol) and my mare Winnie is only 16 hh so I've been looking for studs around 16'3-17'2 hh to give the baby more height. I might settle for shorter though, I really like the rest of him. He just has that extra something about him, you know? |

Yeah, the only real conformation fault of him is the legs. |

Maybe it is just the view, but my dream stallion would have a bit more length in the neck, and it would not have such a verticle attachment. I really hate it when the horses natural head carriage almost stuffs his ears up your nose
I actually like his leg length, he looks well balanced. I would want other pictures though, something about his hock set, and his hind fetlocks look a little puffy, maybe just the white coloring.
And I like a bit of sparkle on my horse! Keep that dark color and spanking white socks Just have someone else around to groom and keep those socks spiffy!
But hey- he could park his shoes in my barn anytime LOL |

I like a high neck attachment, it makes dressage much easier and an uphill build makes ballancing them on their hanch so much easier for both the horse and rider IMO. He head is turned to the side in the pic wich creates an opticle illusion of a shorter neck. If you look on his page there's other pics and a video.
What would your ideal stallion be? You should try and find one and post him here, it would be fun to see how our preferances differ |
