I wrote this at school about war :
Walking onto the beach at Gallipoli,
My heart beating at an incredible rate,
Dieing people screaming for help,
Blood spilt on the pure whit sand,
Bullets rain down from the heavens.
Running down the streets in fear,
Playing a deadly game of hide and seek,
Death at every corner,
Poor people getting shot.
Getting into a plane,
Flying up high from enemies,
Zeppelins chasing rapidly,
Landing home to loving families,
We will remember them.
And here's another about slavery:
Among me they are screaming and crying,
Piercing th blood soaked air,
Above me i hear drunken sailors laughing with
bellies of my dream.
Behind me i hear footsteps,
Like the devil in his den,
Over me a sailor wraps his hands around my shoulders,
I am thrown on to the deck,
Like a coconut thrown onto the ground,
Above me my new white master waits with a cruel and
empty heart.
With a jolt of the boat we land hoping that
they do not whip us,
Cruelty tearing are souls to pieces,
In front of cotton fields and sugar canes we stare,
Thrown into years of harsh working and death.
Ok here's one more that i make up as i go along.
Pockets of light thrown into the cramped space,
And engine hums loudly in my ears,
I do not know where i am or who i am,
Memories flood back to me,
Sitting on the porch,
Master stroking my back in front of the fire,
Purring loudly,
So loudly,
Filling my ears,
Another memories come,
Eating strange food,
Not normal,
Feeling drousy,
A jolt stop the car,
I awake with a heavy heart,
Master takes my "cage" out the the car,
I look and see a sign,
V.E.T,
We walk into cool rooms,
People stare at me,
The woman at the table greets us and says somthing,
Something that i can't under stand,
Master carries me into a room with a man,
He takes me out and places me on the shiny table,
Master pats me and kisses the top of my head,
Why me?
The man takes out a big needle,
He slides it into my body,
I take my last breath,
Death takes hold of me,
All for the one small bird.
I wrote this explaining that animals a killed for a death of a mouse or a bird. People don't give them another chance. |

Ok, this poem is on animal abuse. This might be a little dramatic soo......
I huddle in the corner
crazed and confused
so frightened
so used.
My skin
strapping my rib cage
my big brown eyes
wandering with hope.
Next to me
lay
a mass of fur
breathless and motionless
another dog down
one about to go.
Drunken and Dizzy
my "owner"
straggles in
stick in his hand
Smirk on his face.
Cries pollute the air
then everything lays
silent
silent like my friend
and now silent
just like me.
You see
too late for us it was
and too late
it is for others
Why did we deserve this?
All we wanted to do
was love and please you.
But I guess the please
wasn't enough
now we just lay
like a pile of "stuff." |

My Fall
I run toward
My home,
Suddenly
I am sruggling
In a trap that
Has caught me,
I see that it is
My foot that is
Stuck,
I grow weak
And hungry
As hours,
Days go by,
Soon when
I think there
Is no hope that
I will die in this
Evil trap,
A human steps
Out of the shadows,
He cries out in joy
And points somthing
At me,
I know at
That instant
That I was
Going to fall,
I take a deep
Breath in and
Hold it until
Somthing
Makes me fall,
I soon feel it,
And I think,
I have fallen,
I have failed,
I should have
Never done this,
If I hadn't I would
Still be at home,
Safe and warm
With no worries
Or fears that I
Will fall...
This is about an animal that has been trapped and killed for fur. It's sad how cruel it is. |

All of these are Written and Copyright by me Chelsea Mason-Lane They are not for free use. Thank You. (Note: I will be persecuting if these poems are misused) Sorry if that seems mean but I'm working on getting a publisher interested in my work and if someone else starts passing it off as their work It'll be harder for me to get anyone interested.
Love is a myth
A fairy tale
A good story
In real life
Hate is the currency
Traded back and Fourth
From You to me
Why should we care
I've got bigger nukes
To kill your weak, innocent, poor
Golden streets are the
Blood price we pay
For a chance to be an empire
For Jessie An Angel
She sits waiting patiently
For someone to love her
The bars all around
Keeping her here
The barking din
Numbing her mind
The people walk on
Rending her soul
Everytime the footsteps approach
Her heart soars high
But each time they pass her by
"Too old" cries one
"Rotties are mean" the next
"So big" a third
Something is always wrong
So here she waits
For the darkness to claim her
Because she's
"Unwanted"
Rescue Me
When you see me here
Trapped in this cage
Now don't you fear
I'm not mean or misbehaved
Just not perfect
Or strong or brave
It's because I'd rather spend my day
Loving and learning and wanting to play
Instead of working or biting or fighting
So i was dumped here to die
By those who "loved" me
Won't you please give me a try
I'll be good and loving
Faithful and true
I've got a big heart
To give up to you
If only you
Keep me from the darkness
That comes to claim me
So that another
Unfortunate soul
Can come and wait
And slowly die
Wanting for nothing
But your love
Punish The Deed, Not the Breed
I am loyal
I want to be your best friend
You are my love my life my everything
So I don't understand
Why you left me here
In this cold, loud, bright place
With nothing left to do to please you
I wouldn't have hurt the little one
I would have been her protecter and friend
But your mother saw me
And one of my breed
Nowhere near me
Hurt her once long ago
Why didn't you save me
Just because I'm a Pittie
Don't hate me
I won't hurt my family and friends
I will been loyal to the end |

Fireflake:
Those were really good, I enjoyed reading them..
Especially the first one you submitted, touched home base although it could of been referring to a pet.
I wish you luck with getting these published, you'd go far. Keep up the good work, they have a lot of meaning.. that is always interpreted differently for each individual. Expressive and thoughtful.
