Events and other stuff

Hi I am fairly new to this site and I like it pretty well but there are some things I still don't understand. How is it determined who wins an event? Can there be ties? Also can we find pictures of animals on like Google or something and use them for our pet pages? And is there a limit to how many of our pets can have pictures? cause I haven't seen very many.

Events:
Stats (speed, mainly), rarity (color & breed), lineage (whether or not parents did well; rescues and foundation pairs tend to do very well), and special detail.

Pictures:
No, not from Google. Most of those are copyrighted, and you could get sued if you don't have permission. You can, however, use stock-free photos for pictures and photo manipulation. You can also make pixels, or hand-drawn/computer-drawn art.
There are no limits, but art doesn't really help them, and you usually have a lot of animals so there's no purpose to them. However, people generally get pictures for their best animals.
