A Request For A Friend

Please help her find a path,
Leading her the right way.
Please help her find people,
To keep her from going astray.
Please help heal her wounds,
With kind and confident words.
Please send someone to lead her not into temptation,
But into your arms.
Please give her strength,
To face the day positive.
Please cope with her,
And heal her broken heart.
Please soften her hard heart,
To become more open minded.
Please be her shepherd,
And show her where safety is.
Please be her potter,
And shape her life to become more like you.
Please help her change,
And change the world around her.
Please help her family,
And take away their addictions.
Please patch up her holes,
And repair her.
Please give her new clothes,
To let her real personality shine through.
Please give her a smile,
To make her and the others surrounding her,
Feel good.
Please give her a voice,
When it comes to her troubles.
Please give her all you think she needs,
And fill her with your joy.

How very subtle...

This is a great poem, Sterling. I like the use of metaphors and the personification..
