I know many people have "Art Shops" on SBF and I thought about making one,but then I hesitated, because I didnt know if it was good enough and if people would buy it.
Thats why I have created this post,to ask you if it is good enough...Here are 2 examples both of dogs, done quite recently, and they are manips. What are your thoughts, and please tell me if they are worth any money,if I myself shouild open an art shop.Any help/comments are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You posted the Golden Retriever earlier
My comment(s) -
I wrote: | It's good for a first attempt, yes. However, it's very large.
The dog's cutting is odd. The back feet look like mini-bunny ears to me, and the left leg is red, which is really odd. The chest is a straight line and looks fake, and the front feet look unusually oblong and fake because of it. The dog as a whole looks very straight-edged, like it was cut in a hurry.
The way I cut: Cut out a few inches around your subject, don't go between feet or in small/semi-small areas. (Such as between legs, ears, etc.) Take a big eraser and cut out most of the area. Then, take a circle as a brush (not sure if your program has this; all the ones other than Paint that I've used have it, though), lower the opacity, and cut around the remaining bits of background. If it's a fuzzy or furry animal, take a small brush as an eraser and low opacity and erase in strokes so it truly looks furry or fuzzy. Do this more on backs, chests, etc; less on the head, ears, nose and feet.
The background is pretty, but it really just doesn't flatter the dog. It seems to take the attention away from the dog, for what it shows and it's sheer size. I would suggest using an entirely different background, such as a darker area, or a sunset/rise - something more of a solid color or something.
Also, to make the subject(s) and background look more like one, draw in strokes of the grass, clouds, sand, water, or whatever the background is, on top of the feet, or whatever part is touching the ground, to give it a more realistic tone. Also, choose a direction of sunlight. (The dog you're using already has the sunlight angle - that's one major thing about making a picture "work." If they both have shadows, then they MUST be the same, or at least similar.) Then, take the burn or shadow tool, or even a black, medium opacity brush, and make a shadow on the background. The intensity depends on the existing shadow, if there is one, or how bright you want it to be outside =D
Also, try for font that goes with the picture a bit more. I usually try to make it blend. I also like the name of the subject to be bigger than information about the owner, maker of the pic, breed of animal, or any of that. That's just my style, though, it's not necessary ^^ |
And for the first one, it's pretty, but it's very big and it took a while for me to realize it was for a dog, not a farm, and that it was a manip. (No offense intended o.o) The cutting is very good, but it looks oddly fuzzy on some areas near the head. That might just be from uploading, though.
I like the feet around the grass - it looks very realistic.
With a lack of font and your copyright being hard to find (I would suggest white, overlay, and small font for that area), I'm not sure it really is an appropriate manip for a site... Unless you breed that specific breed and they're all unnamed or something
They're very good With a bit more practice, yes, you could easily make an art shop ^^ What program do you use? |

But,I probably will make an manip art shop sometime. I do also admit that it is a tad too small, but hey, practise makes perfect.
Thanks for the comment and I will take it in and use the advice next time im maiking one.I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0,which is a very good program . |

Lol, yes, I've heard it's very good
I would suggest making the overall picture smaller - not the subject bigger, by the way It stretches the page, and most people here seem to like small, compact images ^_^ |

Yes it's much better =D
Being nit-picky - perhaps make the copyright blend in a bit more? A shade of green from the grass, smaller font, overlay, or faded out?
But it's -much- better. I like it! |
